A magazine is half writing, half being read well. If an essay moved you, challenged you, or missed something important, we want to know. Every letter is read by a person. Responses to essays, corrections, disagreements offered in good faith, and quiet observations we would have missed on our own. We read everything. If your letter points out an error, our corrections policy takes over. If it deserves a reply, you will get one. We only publish excerpts with your permission, and only with your first name. Never your full name or email without asking first. Prefer another door? The contact page reaches the same desk, and our corrections policy explains how we fix what we get wrong.Write to the editors.
